Membership Committee

The Membership Committee is responsible for coordinating all membership services to the Association.  The committee meets monthly or more as needed.  Activities of the Committee include maintaining a master roster of Association members, participate in outreach activities for the Association at universities and other organizations, maintaining the Association conference booth, coordinate training scholarships for Association conferences, and provide Association hospitality at other events.

Committee Goals

  • Continue to offer and choose recipient for one (1) conference scholarship for attendance at each conference 

  • Continue MACPO presence at college and job fairs (maintain/update list)

  • Obtain 100% membership from CPO counties

  • Continue to explore ways to increase membership, look at more recruiting in metro area and counties that are not CPO

  • Update and supply MACPO brochures as needed, all outgoing emails to full membership will be reviewed by 2 Board members prior to being sent

  • Contact past MACPO members to renew memberships

  • Maintain membership list including email addresses to enhance communications

  • Coordinate hospitality and resource fair at MCA

  • Continue to provide registration services for Spring and Support Staff Conference

  • Update and maintain the MACPO display board

  • Maintain clothing and promotional items for the organization

Membership dues are only $35.00 per year and are valid for one year from the date paid.


MACPO membership includes:

  • Voting privileges in MACPO elections
  • An opportunity to serve on committees and run for elected positions on the Executive Committee
  • Access to training and educational events and an opportunity to voice your views and impact change on critical issues facing corrections.

Regular voting members are comprised of county, state and community corrections probation and parole practitioners. Associate members are comprised of all other persons interested in corrections. Associate members have all rights and privileges of membership, except voting.  Student membership is encouraged.

MACPO is proud to announce Quenilla Pettigrew as the recipient for the 2013 Academic Memorial Scholarship. Quenilla hails from Waseca, MN and is currently a senior at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Quenilla is majoring in Corrections with a minor in Sociology and her career goal is to become a probation officer. Congrats to Quenilla for her hard work and dedication to the field of Corrections.
